Position Summary

Reporting to the SVP of Human Resources, the Vice President/Human Resources is responsible for hands-on daily leadership and management of the HR function.  This includes recruiting, retention, employee relations, compensation and benefits, legal and regulatory compliance and HR policy & procedure.  The VP/HR will also serve as the central point of contact as an internal consultant for the organization’s management team and employees on all HR matters relating to performance.  The Vice President of Human Resources will mold and lead a team of four, and add two new positions during the course of the year, for a total staff of six.  The VP/HR will possess both strong leadership skills combined with outstanding technical skills. 

Position Responsibilities (Include but not limited to...)

The Vice President of Human Resources will provide confidential counsel to the SVP of Human Resources and other members of the organization’s management team.  They will also direct the overall programs, activities and support provided by the Human Resources Department. The VP/HR will ensure the development, implementation, and measured outcomes of all Human Resources programs, initiatives and strategies that will help identify Community First as an Employer of Choice in the highly competitive Jacksonville marketplace.  These include:

Position Qualifications

* 10 to 15 years of similar or related experience in a medium to large financial services institution or other fast- paced, multiple location operating environment. This should include progressively responsible and preparatory hands-on experience and functional expertise in the major Human Resources functions such as recruitment and retention, employee relations, compensation and benefits, legal and regulatory compliance, policy and procedures, and employee engagement and wellness are required.

* At least 3 to 5 years of proven leadership and staff management experience; responsible for serving as a fair, impartial and confidential internal consultant to the management team and employee population.

* Proven ability to motivate or influence, adept at effectively utilizing a significant level of diplomacy, influence and trust; capable of readily gaining cooperation internally or externally from senior level executives and/or other key stakeholders.

* Experienced, comfortable and effective in preparing and delivering frequent material presentations.

* Demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively manage multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.

* Outstanding communication skills, and the ability to deliver information in a logical and understandable manner to a variety of audiences; able to establish and readily build rapport with internal clients.

* Possess the capability of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous, different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization, demonstrating the highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.

* Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.

* Able to perform all responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.

* Proven capability in using the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

* A college degree is required, an advanced degree or PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.
